As this blog is an inspiration from Nipun Mehta's writings, I will start in the same vein as him. I have a few labels that are attached to me by the world's cultural framework-Tarun(name), Vijayawada(hometown),Indian(identity),Hinduism(birth religion),Service(praticising religion) and a host of institutions which are helping me add alphabets after my name!
Scientifically, particle physics has come to the point of simulating the Big Bang experiment to create sub-proton particles. As of now, we however understand the particle-wave duality nature thanks to a host of great minds. To break it down for a 10th grader, any micro(elementary particles, atoms or molecules) or macroscopic(plants, animals and humans) objects have both wave and particle properties. We are in effect a rapidly changing particles arising and passing away, the speed being so rapid that it is like a wave of vibrations. So, evenly the subatomic particles have no real solidity, having an existence span of less than one-trillionth of a second.A natural question that follows is-why do we not then feel the wave nature within us or in other macroscopic objects? Well, if you can pause enough and have a stillness in your mind which can capture the photograph of the one-trillionth of a second, you must just witness the Big Bang yourself!!! Or using the eloquence of Stephen Hawking's words,
If we do discover a complete theory, it should in time be understandable in broad principle by everyone, not just a few scientists. Then we shall all, philosophers, scientists, and just ordinary people, be able to take part in the discussion of why it is that we and the universe exist. If we find the answer to that, it would be the ultimate triumph of human reason-for then we would know the mind of God.
Alteast that's the hypothesis from the multi-layered mythological stories of Hinduism and the teachings of Buddha as well. And due credit to all the 3 crore Gods in Hinduism and Buddha, they do not describe the absolute truth or the meta physical experience. Something which is perfect is beyond description by flawed modes like symbols and words. They say neti-neti(not this-not that) and iti-iti(this also-that also). They also offer every human means(Yoga and Vipassana) to experience the Big Bang or God or Ultimate truth or Ultimate purity or Supreme Consciousness(whatever you call based on your religious orientation).
So, that's what I am - searcher, traveller and a scientist(without alphabets).I will write about my experiments with 'Big Bang' as we go along in other posts. Whether I see the one-trillionth second or not in this lifetime is inconsequential for me honestly. I am just grateful for having a human life - limitless potential to create and a priceless opportunity to seek the answer to the question of this post - Who am I?
Wow!! we seemed to have rubbed on to so deeply through Nipun's writings :)
